Do I need to have an opinion on everything?
I seldom involve in conversations about politics, but I don’t stop people from talking about it.
That’s the way I am.
The world, however, sees things differently. If you don’t form an opinion, you are a moron. You are selfish.
Okay. I get you.
I see that’s an opinion on who I should be. It is not who I am.
When I was in primary school, my teacher gave me a bookmark. There was drawing on the bookmark, showing a person was eating a durian, while another person looked disgusted. The caption of the drawing was “Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean that you can depreciate its value”.
Durian is a love-or-hate kind of food.
I love durian because of its taste and many people don’t like it because of its stinky smell.
Whether you like it or not, your opinion cannot reflect what a durian is.
- It is a tropical fruit (that’s a fact).
- It has a distinctive smell (that’s a fact).
- It contains lots of nutrients and fats (that’s also a fact).
Durian has its value. It has its purpose to exist in the world. It does not need everyone to agree with it and like it.
I am not going to convince you that durian is good for you. I accept whatever opinion you have about it.
